SUPERPOWERS

I am invisible
and you are invincible
together we could conquer the world
but you are my enemy
because you are invincible
and I am invisible
you are invincible
and you know it
and you flaunt it
and you crush the lesser heroes
beneath the weight of your impervious skin
lead feet and iron fists
I am invisible
and I'm just now figuring that out
it is how I have survived this far into your lair
I haven't been flying lately
it's not that I can't
I just haven't been in the proper mindset to fly
so I walked in here
under your radar and invisible
intent on the discovery and disclosure of
any weakness or flaw in your vaunted defenses
a chink in the armor
a weak link in the chains
with which you bind your slaves
I've come to free them
before they can betray me
with whispers and pointed fingers
I am invisible
and all they know is something is moving
the shadows are moving
you are a slumbering giant
and I am too small to notice
I am invisible
and you are invincible
but not omniscent

After re-reading this piece several times, I noticed that I had dropped the second "n" out of several "invincibles." So I wrote this:

typing too quickly for my drunken fingers
getting lost in the conversation of internal dialogue
caught just the gist of it
allow me to paraphrase
it's been more than seven days
and it's left me feeling weak
don't call me a hero
heroes get the girl
or die trying
