LOVE IS A FIRE

Love is a fire

it starts as a spark
and grows as you fuel it
feed it with kind words and actions and moments of joy
it grows according to its sources
if fed heavy logs it moves in slower increments
as it takes time to consume the bulk and weight of it
if fed kindling and tinder it moves quickly
to a hot flame which spreads rapidly voracious in its appetite for more
it is a matter of finding the balance between those two sources
if you have too much of one or too little of the other
then your flame will eventually consume all you have to offer it
and it will dwindle until it flickers out and even the embers will cool
leaving only ashes and dust and the memories of a great fire in its wake
but if you watch it carefully and feed it faithfully
your little spark can grow into a bonfire which may last for many generations

love is so like fire
an empowering and yet consuming element
an agent of change
